Burgas tightens measures against COVID-19. Due to the complicated epidemic situation in the Burgas region, the Health Council decided on additional anti-epidemic measures.
The number of COVID beds in the area has increased to 466, including 36 beds for patients in need of intensive care.
The holding of mass events, such as music and other festivals, fairs, folklore initiatives, farmers’ markets and bazaars (outside those registered as public facilities) and others, where it is not possible to apply the so-called “green certificate” for attendance.
The holding of congress-conference events, seminars, etc. is suspended. The audience of cultural, stage and other events is limited – up to 50% and the presentation of a mandatory green certificate.

Sports events will be held without an audience, and those present at the event will have a mandatory green certificate.

For the period from January 24 to January 28, it is planned to switch to e-learning for students of 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and 11th grades in all municipalities, except the municipality of Ruen. For the students from 1st to 4th grade, as well as for the students from 7th, 10th and 12th grades, the present learning process remains in all municipalities, in compliance with the anti-epidemic measures.
The principals of the educational establishments according to the specific situation in the given school to be able to make decisions for termination of the present classes.
The mixing of children from different classes in a full-time form of education is stopped.

Children will be able to visit public facilities (malls, cinemas, restaurants, etc.) only in the presence of a parent or guardian.
Attendance at higher education institutions is suspended, with the exception of practical exercises for students of medicine, dentistry and others if necessary and examinations in case of non-admission of more than 10 people in a room / hall and compliance with the requirements for a green certificate.
The measures will enter into force on January 24, 2022.
Newly infected in the Burgas region reached 1361 per 100,000. The highest percentage – 17%, newly infected children are observed in the age group 10-19 years.
There is an increase in absent students due to illness, quarantine or absent students at the discretion of parents, said the director of RWU-Burgas Eng. Violeta Ilieva.
The same is the case with teachers, pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff.
