Burgas District ranks fourth in the country in terms of number of employed persons

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the total number of employed persons in the Burgas region is 182.0 thousand, of which 101.6 thousand are men and 80.4 thousand are women.

The employment rate in the Burgas region in the fourth quarter of 2022 is 52.6% (compared to 54.9% for the country), respectively 61.9% for men and 44.3% for women.

In terms of the number of employed persons, the Burgas region is in fourth place in the country, after the Varna region (241.0 thousand) and before the Stara Zagora region (143.5 thousand), and in terms of employment rate – in the 13th place, after the Kyustendil region (52.8 %) and before Shumen district (52.4%).

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the total number of employed persons in the age group 15-64 in the Burgas region is 176.4 thousand, of which 98.3 thousand are men and 78.1 thousand are women.

The employment rate for the population aged 15-64 is 67.7%, respectively 75.6% for men and 59.8% for women.

In terms of the number of employed persons, the Burgas region is in fourth place in the country, after the Varna region (235.9 thousand) and before the Stara Zagora region (139.3 thousand), and in terms of employment rate – in the 17th place, after the Shumen region (68.3 %) and before Haskovo district (67.6%).
