Burberry presented pastel-hued styles during London Fashion Week

Burberry creative director Daniel Lee deconstructed the classic trench coat for the British brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, with models draped in baby blue capes trimmed with feathers walking down a lilac-carpeted catwalk at London’s National Theatre on Monday.

Dusty pink, blue and violet hues stood out amidst a palette of off-white, beige and grey, while sequins in gold, lilac and brown also appeared on several dresses and tops.

Short jackets were made from lightweight materials such as silk poplin and linen, while trench coat elements such as capes, epaulettes and buckles were layered over open-backed silk dresses. The men wore structured jackets with high collars in teal and Burberry checks.

It was Burberry’s first show since Joshua Schulman took over as CEO in July, with the brand under pressure to improve its performance after sales fell behind those of its rivals.

The walkway was lined with sheets of green canvas perforated with rectangles and circles, tied with blue industrial rope.

Created by artist Gary Hume, the pendants reflected the grey grid of concrete squares which form the roof of the theatre, one of London’s best-known examples of brutalist architecture.

The Burberry show is a key part of London Fashion Week, a biannual event where designers and brands present their new creations on catwalks throughout the city. Ends on Tuesday.
