In his written statement, KTÖS Secretary General Burak Maviş asked Çavuşoğlu to prove his allegations and said, “If Nazım Bey cannot prove his allegations, he should not be in the Ministry of Education nor in the cabinet from now on.”
Emphasizing that lawmakers should be more careful before targeting the courts and act in accordance with the principle of the rule of law, Maviş noted that a minister making such serious accusations shakes the trust in both the country’s education system and the judicial system. Maviş demanded transparency and clarity from Çavuşoğlu regarding the conspiracy allegations he made.
“Considering the seriousness of the allegations, the government should make a statement on this issue and share it with the public if there is any evidence,” said Maviş, adding that if this is not done, suspicions will arise that the government is trying to intervene in the judiciary, pressuring the courts and advocating the establishment of the Ministry of Justice instead of an independent judiciary.
