Bungie doesn’t support Destiny 2 on SteamOS and Proton warns about bans – Gaming – News

Bungie has announced whether Destiny 2 will be playable on the Steam Deck. That will not happen for the time being and players who try to play the game on Valve’s handheld through detours may be banned for it.

The Steam Deck was released last week and already supports hundreds of games from the Steam library. Support is still being worked on for a number of games and for a number of games it is still unclear whether support will be forthcoming. Bungie has now clarified its support for Destiny 2 on its website: this support will not be available for the time being.

Only if Steam Deck users install Windows can they boot Destiny 2, Bungie writes. If players attempt to launch the game through SteamOS, they will be returned to their game library. Bungie adds that if players try to run Destiny 2 in SteamOS, they risk being banned.

Bungie is not the only game company that will not support Steam Deck for the time being. Epic Games has also indicated that the popular Fortnite no update gets to support Steam Deck.

Steam Deck is Valve’s handheld that came out late last month. Tweakers has the handheld reviewed before release. Valve wants to get as many games available on Steam working on the handheld as possible. The ProtonDB website keeps track of which games playable are on the Steam Deck.
