Bundeswehr supports health departments in Rottweil, Reutlingen and Zollernalbkreis. | South Baden

In more and more circles, the health authorities are overwhelmed when tracking corona infected people. They get help from the Bundeswehr – including the districts of Rottweil, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Lörrach.

Up and down the country, the number of people infected with corona is increasing. Not only public life suffers, but also health authorities. They have to identify a large number of infected people and their contact persons, speak to them and possibly send them to quarantine. They are now getting more and more support from the Bundeswehr.

Soldiers provide support in health departments in Rottweil and Freiburg

Eight Bundeswehr soldiers have been calling from the health department in the Rottweil district since Friday in order to break any chains of infection. The Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald Health Department, also responsible for the city of Freiburg, is supported by five soldiers from the Franco-German Brigade from Müllheim. District Administrator Dorothea Störr-Ritter has requested 15 more Bundeswehr soldiers for civilian service.

Loerrach has also requested help from the armed forces

In Lörrach, where well over 50 corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants were counted this week, the health department is working under high pressure. Although employees have also been withdrawn from other departments, the staff is not enough to keep track of the necessary contacts Contact-Tracing, to guarantee. District Administrator Marion Dammann has therefore also asked the military. Starting next week, a total of two teams of three from the Franco-German Brigade will support the work of the health department there.
