No Bavaria and a lot of Leipzig! The top 11
Bundesliga debutants-
1/19
After the first half of the season, we’ll look at the best players who made their Bundesliga debut this season. RB Leipzig is particularly well represented with three players, but you will look in vain for Bayern players.
2/19
TOR – MANUEL RIEMANN (VfL Bochum): Thanks to its goalkeeper, VfL are in twelfth place after a more than solid first half of the season. The Bochum goalkeeper was able to keep his box clean five times in 16 missions.
3/19
DEFENSE – JOE SCALLY: The youngster came from New York City for just under 2 million euros before the season and became a regular player straight away. In a disappointing season for Borussia, Scally is one of the bright spots and has played every game so far.
4/19
HIROKI ITO (VfB Stuttgart): The Japanese was originally planned for the VfB U23, but he was convincing from day one and became a regular faster than expected. VfB will definitely take the purchase option for 400,000 euros.
5/19
JOSKO GVARDIOL (RB Leipzig): Came from Dynamo Zagreb for almost 19 million euros before the season and has been a regular at RB since the second matchday. Initially used as a left-back and now first choice in central defense.
6/19
DAVID RAUM (TSG Hoffenheim): Came on a free transfer from Greuther Fürth, was able to prepare five goals as a left-back and was recently nominated for the national team by national coach Hansi Flick.
7/19
MITTELFELD – MANU KONE (Borussia Mönchengladbach): After missing the start of the season with an injury, he has now become a permanent part of the Gladbach team and already indicated his potential.
8/19
ANTON STACH (Mainz 05): As a defensive midfielder and clearer in front of the defense chain, Stach has a large share in the strong Mainz defense and the generally strong season.
9/19
KEVIN SCHADE (SC Freiburg): Came from the youth of Freiburg and has so far mostly been used as a joker. Scored his second goal of the season in the win against Leverkusen. Above all, his pace causes problems for the opponents.
10/19
JAE-SUNG LEE (Mainz 05): Came free of charge and without great expectations from Holstein Kiel, but still played in the Mainz team and has been getting better and better recently.
11/19
DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI (RB Leipzig): After moving to Leipzig for 22 million euros from Salzburg, he is already one of the top performers in the team and can be used in several different positions.
12/19
STRUM – RAFAEL BORRE (Eintracht Frankfurt): Came on a free transfer from River Plate and after initial difficulties, the Argentine is in strong form recently: two goals and three assists in the last four Bundesliga games.
13/19
HONORABLE MENTIONS – PIERO HINCAPIE (Bayer Leverkusen): Came to the Werkself for around 6.4 million euros from CA Talleres in Argentina and was most recently a regular in central defense.
14/19
PATRICK WIMMER (Arminia Bielefeld): Came for only 700,000 euros from Austria Wien and is playing a solid season at Arminia. Could become very important in the battle for relegation.
15/19
MOHAMED SIMAKAN (RB Leipzig): Came to replace Upamecano and Konate for 15 million euros from Strasbourg. Has not yet been able to assert himself 100% as a regular employee, but shows great potential.
16/19
ODILON KOSSOUNOU (Bayer Leverkusen): Came from Bruges as the most expensive purchase of the Leverkusen this summer for 23 million euros and is in central defense.
17/19
DONYELL MALEN (Borussia Dortmund): After the Dutchman moved from Eindhoven to BVB for 30 million euros, expectations were high, but the goals failed to materialize. But painting finally found its form and was able to indicate its class.
18/19
DEJAN LJUBICIC (1. FC Cologne): Effzeh signed Ljubcic on a free transfer from Rapid Vienna and at Cologne he became a regular in defensive midfield.
19/19
STEVAN JOVETIC (Hertha BSC): Jovetic was also signed on a free transfer and with five goals in ten Bundesliga appearances, the veteran is playing a solid first Bundesliga season.
