Hoeneß announces bad news
Dan-Axel Zagadou has suffered another serious injury and will be out of the VfB Stuttgart squad for an indefinite period. The Frenchman suffered a cruciate ligament tear in February.

Bad luck for VfB Stuttgart and Dan-Axel Zagadou! As VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß announced on Thursday at the press conference before the Bundesliga away game in Wolfsburg, the French defender has suffered another serious injury. After Zagadou tore his cruciate ligament in February, the 25-year-old has now torn the lateral ligament in his right knee.

“This is very, very bitter for the boy and for us,” explained Hoeneß. “I can’t say exactly how long, but he won’t be available for a while. That’s all still being discussed. Same knee, same spot.”
Zagadou collects first minutes – and is missing again
After VfB’s 5-1 victory against Borussia Dortmund, Hoeneß was confident that Zagadou would soon be able to play an important role for the Swabians again. The Frenchman played 20 minutes against his former club, which is bad news for both club and player – he was extremely important for the VfB defense before his cruciate ligament tear.
“The fact is that Daxo was one of the top central defenders in the Bundesliga last year when he played, and of course we had high hopes that he would be that factor for us again.”

In Wolfsburg, Hoeneß will most likely rely on the duo Jeff Chabot and Anthony Rouault, who already shone against BVB.
