Second victory for Sahin?

It wasn’t enough for an opening win. On the first match day, Bremen were guests at FC Augsburg and drew 2:2. In the 12th minute, Werder took the lead through Felix Agu (24), but then Augsburg turned the game around before the half-time whistle. In the second half, substitute Justin Njinmah (23) equalized in the 58th minute to make the final score 2:2.

Borussia Dortmund was able to celebrate three points on the first match day. In front of their home crowd, BVB won 2-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt, giving new BVB coach Nuri Sahin (35) a successful home debut in the Bundesliga. Man of the match was substitute Jamie Gittens (20), who scored both goals.

The BVB pros have been given two days off after coach Nuri Sahin’s opening win. Sahin: “The boys deserve it today. The three points today were extremely important. It was important to get a successful start to the season.”
He continued: “Not everything we played was top-notch. That makes it all the more important to speed up the process with victories.”
