Bundesliga: These are the most valuable Germans without a club

Especially clubs that are a little short on cash are currently keeping their eyes open. Because since June 30, many professionals have been without a club and are therefore available for free. RevierSport has listed the most valuable German professionals – including two former professionals of the VfL Bochum.

Danny Blum | Market value: 600 thousand euros

The 31-year-old was one of the crowd favorites at VfL Bochum. Blum was trained, among other things, in the youth department of Schalke 04. In 2019, the winger came from Eintracht Frankfurt to Castroper Straße. In total, he has been under contract with six professional clubs so far.

Herbert Bockhorn | Market value: 800 thousand euros

Many fans would have liked to have seen the second former player from Bochum in the rankings in the VfL shirt. The right-back received his training at Werder Bremen. Via SC Wiedenbrück and Borussia Dortmund II we went to Huddersfield in England. From there, Bochum signed the right-back on a free transfer.

With 136 Bundesliga games, Rupp is the most experienced German professional in this list. Trained at Karlsruher SC, he made his breakthrough at Borussia Mönchengladbach and SC Paderborn. He then switched back and forth between the two clubs before he was able to gain a foothold at TSG Hoffenheim via VfB Stuttgart in 2018. Most recently, he was under contract with Norwich City.

Loris Karius | Market value: 1.5 million euros

His CV is extremely impressive: Liverpool FC, Besiktas Istanbul, Manchester City. But Karius was only really successful at FSV Mainz 05, where he became the regular goalkeeper. In 2016 he moved to Klopp-Klubb in England, from where he was loaned to Union Berlin, among others. He could not assert himself, the 29-year-old is currently looking for a club.

Jannes Horn | Market value: 1.8 million euros

The leader of the most valuable German professionals who are currently available on a free transfer is Horn, an established left-back. He was trained at VfL Wolfsburg, who received 4 million from 1. FC Köln in 2017. He was not able to assert himself there straight away, was loaned to Hannover 96 in the second division, but was temporarily set after his return in 2020.
