Berlin (dpa) – The fans are back in the stadiums. At least partially. Several thousand cheered the gates of their clubs. In Dortmund, 9,300 spectators inspired the runner-up, who made an impressive start the day after FC Bayern’s 8-0 victory over FC Schalke 04.
FANS: Around 8400 in Bremen, 7123 in Stuttgart, 6500 in Frankfurt, around 5000 in the An der Alten Försterei stadium in Union – and even 9300 in Dortmund. On Saturday there was again a Bundesliga atmosphere in the arenas, and the fans made a lot of steam. The Dortmund South Stand, otherwise with the famous “Yellow Wall”, a sea of almost 25,000 standing people, offered an unusual picture with its seat shells. The whistle concert for the guests, who like everywhere weren’t allowed to bring fans, sounded almost like normal again. In Bremen, coach Florian Kohfeldt said before kick-off: “It’s wonderful, it feels like real football again.” Werder still lost 4-1 to Hertha BSC.
BAYERN-JÄGER: Maybe not eight goals, but three in the top game. Borussia Dortmund is also in good shape early on. Telling: In the 3-0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach, also a very ambitious club, the 17-year-old Giovanni Reyna and the three-year-old Erling Haaland were twice as successful. “The boys my age are so fun to play with,” Reyna said. Mats Hummels, at 31 years of age one of the elderly, said: “We know that the quality at the front often gives us our chances.” But it is “just a game day, that’s all there is to it”.
AUFSTEIGER: It wasn’t so bad what VfB Stuttgart and Arminia Bielefeld delivered. The East Westphalia took a point in the 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt. VfB showed great morale in the 2: 3 against SC Freiburg in the second half, even if it wasn’t enough in the end. “It always hurts to lose,” said VfB coach Pellegrino Matarazzo: “But I am positive that we were able to create a lot of goal chances.” Arminia stayed away from the Bundesliga for 4137 days, and coach Uwe Neuhaus was immediately satisfied: “The bottom line is that the result is fair.”
TORJÄGER: Andrej Kramaric for the first, the second and the third. With three goals, the Croatian almost single-handedly secured TSG Hoffenheim a 3-2 win at 1. FC Köln – at the same time the successful Bundesliga debut of the new TSG coach Sebastian Hoeneß. Kramaric was not satisfied with the defensive weakness. “We have to play and train better, otherwise this season won’t be enough,” said the 29-year-old. Maybe also because he knows the game plan: FC Bayern will be visiting Kraichgau next weekend.
SUNDAY: RB Leipzig intervenes. The Champions League semi-finalist is one of the few clubs that can at least annoy FC Bayern. Coach Julian Nagelsmann, whose team will meet FSV Mainz 05 in the afternoon (3.30 p.m. / Sky), wants to play for the title again as soon as possible. “Of course I’m in the mood, you only have these motivational difficulties if you are extremely satisfied,” said the 33-year-old. The evening before (6 p.m. / Sky) Bayer Leverkusen will play at VfL Wolfsburg – the Werkself have to show that they can survive at Chelsea even after super talent Kai Havertz has left.
