Bundesliga News: Possible changes in the all-time table | Football News

With Werder Bremen and Schalke 04, two traditional clubs are leaving the Bundesliga. But what effects can a lack of league membership have on the eternal table? The HSV is also affected.

In recent years Werder Bremen has always had the most games in the history of the German House of Lords. They were only absent for a year. Now it goes one floor down again. Thus, the club remains in league one for 57 seasons.

Bayern Munich is going into its 57th Bundesliga season in August and is level with Werder in these statistics. But in the end, FCB will have eight more games in the account. The reason is that Bayern were not represented in the first two years when only 16 teams played in the German upper house.

The eternal table of the Bundesliga

placement team Seasons Games Points
1 FC Bayern Munich 56 1908 3847
2 Borussia Dortmund 54 1832 2939
3 SV Werder Bremen 57 1934 2886
4 Hamburger SV 55 1866 2733
5 VfB Stuttgart 54 1832 2699
6 Borussia Monchengladbach 53 1806 2674
7 FC Schalke 04 53 1798 2532
8 Eintracht Frankfurt 52 1764 2396
9 1. FC Cologne 49 1662 2363
10 Bayer 04 Leverkusen 42 1432 2237
13 VfL Bochum 34 1160 1374
53 SpVgg Greuther Fürth 1 34 21

HSV can slide down mightily in the eternal table

However, Bremen will not lose third place in the all-time table. Behind them is Hamburger SV, which will not score points in the Bundesliga in the coming season. With a gap of 187 points, VfB Stuttgart has no chance of overtaking Werder.

The Swabians could, however, collect HSV and jump to fourth place in the all-time table. They have to reach 35 points to overtake Hamburg. With the result from this season (45 points) they would do it. Borussia Mönchengladbach can also overtake HSV with a strong playing time. The gap is 59 points.

Curious goal difference at Schalke

The relegation of FC Schalke 04 does not have any major impact on the eternal table for the club. As for the points, no one can catch up with them. Eintracht Frankfurt will draw level in terms of Bundesliga games. The goal difference from Royal Blue is curious: it remains at 0 for the time being. Schalke scored 2607 goals in its Bundesliga history; the club received just as many.

For second division champions VfL Bochum it is a great success to return to the German upper house after eleven years. In the eternal table, it hardly makes a difference. In 13th place, nothing is possible up front. The clubs behind them that will play first-class in the coming season also have no chance of overtaking Bochum.

Fürth can climb – new Bundesliga member?

The other promoted Greuther Fürth, on the other hand, can break away from five other teams who only spent one season in the German House of Lords. In terms of the number of games, they draw level with SpVgg Unterhaching, Tennis Borussia Berlin, SC Paderborn and FC Ingolstadt.

In terms of points, there is of course a lot for Fürth, as they are in the lowest region of the all-time table. RB Leipzig (29th place) and Union Berlin (43rd place), which are still in their first Bundesliga period, will probably continue to experience an upturn. So they can make up places year after year.

Should FC Köln lose in the relegation and slip into the second division, this has no direct effect on the eternal table of the Bundesliga. If Holstein Kiel manages to get promoted, the Bundesliga will welcome its 57th member since its inception in 1963.
