FC Schalke 04 is probably vying for the services of Marcin Kaminski from VfB Stuttgart
Looking for reinforcements for the coming season, FC Schalke 04 has apparently struck gold with Bundesliga competitor VfB Stuttgart.
How “Sky“reported, those responsible for the Royal Blues asked about central defender Marcin Kaminski. According to this, the Revierklub has already contacted the 29-year-old Poland.
Kaminski’s working paper with the Swabians expires in the summer, so it would be available for free. A fact that would certainly meet the damp Schalke.
Kaminski moved from Lech Posen to VfB Stuttgart in 2016. In the 2018/2019 season, the defender was loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The seven-time national player has only played 61 times for the Swabians. In the current season he does not play a role in the team of coach Pellegrino Matarazzo. Kaminski only made three appearances across all competitions. Most recently he was not even in the matchday squad.
Finances at VfB Stuttgart unclear
It is almost impossible for Kaminski to extend his contract with VfB. “We first have to see what the budget looks like. That has an influence on whether and how many contracts we can extend,” said sports director Sven Mislintat in February on the “kicker”. One thing is clear: players whose contracts are expiring is only possible if they accept financial losses.
According to the magazine, an extension with Captain Castro has priority. But Daniel Didavi can also calculate his chances of continued employment. Its perspectives are currently being “weighed up” internally, they say. “As a separate academy player, he’s a great integration factor for our academy players,” said Mislintat. Kaminski, on the other hand, will likely leave VfB.
