Munich – FC Bayern won their ninth title in a row on the 32nd Bundesliga matchday. The Munich hurricane swept Borussia Mönchengladbach with six goals after Borussia Dortmund had crowned FCB champions before kick-off, with a home win over RB Leipzig.
Anyone who thinks that the last away game of the season will turn out to be a show for the record champions is probably mistaken: the Flick team already showed a strong performance against the “foals” despite the fact that they were defending their title, while goalgetter Robert Lewandowski scored three goals for his personal goal came closer: breaking the record of storm legend Gerd Müller.
SC Freiburg – FC Bayern live: Two reasons give hope for an exciting duel
The “bomber of the nation” scored 40 hits in the 1971/72 season, world footballer Lewandowski is two game days before the end of 39. So the chances are good that the Pole will at least set the old record. Now the walk to SC Freiburg follows and although the guests from the Isar are the favorites, the duel promises to be explosive:
In the past, Freiburg was able to take points from FC Bayern, most recently in the 2018/19 season when both Bundesliga duels ended in a draw. On the other hand, the team of cult trainer Christian Streich still has a small chance of participating in the European Cup. Gladbach and Union Berlin are the clubs that are currently fighting for seventh place. So it could well be that the duel between SCF and FCB in the Black Forest Stadium will be an exciting comparison.
When the kick-off sounds on the penultimate Bundesliga matchday on Saturday, May 15, you can of course be there – at least on TV and in the live stream. However, the game will not be broadcast on free TV.
