1. FC Köln will meet the promoted team from Bochum in a West duel at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, and FC Bayern Munich will duel with Hertha BSC on Saturday evening. Hertha want to collect their first points of the season in Munich. The game day ends on Sunday with VfL Wolfsburg and Leipzig.
EXPRESS.de taps the 3rd Bundesliga matchday!
Borussia Dortmund – TSG Hoffenheim (Friday, 8.30 p.m.)
BVB has already shown its two faces this season: In the first game of the season, Borussia delivered a gala performance against Eintracht Frankfurt (5: 2), in which Erling Haaland (21) in particular demonstrated his class. In the second game of the season at SC Freiburg, however, Marco Rose’s (44) team lost 2-1. As the last few years have shown, BVB has to work on its mentality in the game against supposedly weaker opponents. At TSG Hoffenheim, however, one cannot speak of a weak opponent. They are not undeservedly in second place and also want to get their offensive power rolling in Dortmund.

VfB Stuttgart – SC Freiburg (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
Derby time in Baden-Württemberg! VfB Stuttgart welcomes the sports club from Freiburg, which travels to the Mercedes-Benz-Arena with a lot of self-confidence after the home win against Borussia Dortmund. The Stuttgart have to do without their Austrian goal guarantor Sasa Kalajdzic (24), who is out with a shoulder dislocation for a longer period of time. Silas Katopma Mvumpa (formerly known as Silas Wamangituka) is also missing due to a suspension from the previous season. On the other hand, Freiburg coach Christian Streich (56) can again rely on club legend Nils Petersen (32), who survived his knee injury. Petersen prefers to score as a joker.

1. FSV Mainz 05 – SpVgg Greuther Fürth (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
On Saturday afternoon, the clover will make a guest appearance at FSV Mainz in the Mewa Arena. At the beginning of the millennium, both teams were considered unlucky when it came to promotion from the second to the first Bundesliga. So far, the Franconians have been able to get one point from two games, the Rheinhessen three points. Both teams were traded as potential relegation candidates before the season.

FC Augsburg – Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)
After a fantastic performance against Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Werkself from Leverkusen will face FC Augsburg this weekend. Florian Wirtz (18) is back in the Bayer squad, he was missing recently due to groin problems. At Augsburg there is a chance that Icelander Alfred Finnbogason (32) can take a seat on the bench. The attacker was dealing with an ankle injury.

Arminia Bielefeld – Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
The DSC Arminia Bielefeld has to deal with the Eintracht from Frankfurt. Both teams drew last weekend. At Bielefeld, newcomer Alessandro Schöpf (27) is out, he has to serve his yellow-red suspension. The Hessians still have to do without captain Sebastian Rode (30), he recently underwent knee surgery. In terms of quality, Eintracht has the clearly stronger squad, but anything can happen on the Alm.

1. FC Köln – VfL Bochum (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
The hype about Cologne’s new head coach Steffen Baumgart (49) is real: the first game against Leipzig (3: 1) surprisingly won, the second game just lost after an impressive team performance in Munich (2: 3). However, the newcomer from Bochum should not be underestimated. The experienced VfL team is hungry for victory and wants to spare its fans a direct relegation. It will be important for FC to get the nimble Gerrit Holtmann (26) under control. Here Kingsley Ehizibue could be preferred to Benno Schmitz (both 26). Youngster Jan Thielmann (19) is absent from FC due to illness.

FC Bayern Munich – Hertha BSC (Saturday, 6.30 p.m.)
The top game between the record champions and Hertha BSC starts on Saturday evening at 6.30 p.m. Bayern are slowly getting going after their victories against 1. FC Köln (3: 2) and Bremer SV in the Cup (12: 0), Hertha is in a crisis. The Berliners started the season with two defeats and are last in the table. It is unlikely that the first points can be scored in the Allianz Arena, of all places.

Union Berlin – Borussia Mönchengladbach (Sunday, 3.30 p.m.)
What was going on with Borussia Mönchengladbach? Bayern almost beaten in the opening game, got the riot act in the game in Leverkusen on the second day of the game: Final score 0: 4 from the perspective of Gladbach’s new coach Adi Hütter (51). The foals are now challenged and meet Union Berlin in the Alte Försterei. The Iron, who are even able to prove themselves internationally in the Conference League this season, are anything but windfall. Union trainer Urs Fischer (55) has a strong team together that also sees their chance against Borussia.

VfL Wolfsburg – Leipzig (Sunday, 5.30 p.m.)
The two Champions League participants Wolfsburg and Leipzig conclude the third day of the match. The Wolves are currently top of the table and the only team that won their first two games of the new season. The embarrassing mistake in the cup game at Preußen Münster seems to have been almost completely forgotten in the current performance of Mark van Bommel’s (44) team. RB indicated his class against Stuttgart last week – especially the young Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai (20) should be kept an eye on.
