An incredible episode characterized the Bundesliga recovery between Bayern and Union Berlin, which ended 1-0 thanks to a goal from Guerreiro in the 46th minute. With a quarter of an hour to go the visiting coach Nenad Bjelica was the protagonist of a deplorable behavior against Leroy Sané. Probably unnerved by the moment, given that just 3′ earlier the referee had not deemed an obvious contact in the Bavarian area between Laimer and Behrens punishable, the Croatian coach provoked the German winger by hiding the ball from him which had ended in a lateral foul. The two pushed each other and Bjelica lost his head and put his hands in the player’s face. The referee’s red card was inevitable.
Decide Guerreiro, misfortune for Upamecano
Beyond the episode of the possible penalty which, rechecked by the VAR, seemed to have been judged correctly (it was Behrens who hit Laimer and not the other way around, ed.), it must be said that Bayern’s success was deserved. The reigning champions dominated (with 80% ball possession before taking the lead), scoring the winning goal at the start of the second half with Guerreiro, quick to collect Kane’s shot, which was blocked by the post. The only bad news for Tuchel is the flexor injury suffered at the end of the first half by Upamecano who had to come off at half-time. With this victory, Bayern reduces the gap on league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, moving back to -4 from the top.
