Bundesliga conference live (from 3.30 p.m.)
BVB are chasing their seventh Bundesliga win in a row against Hoffenheim
Situation: Hoffenheim haven’t won the last eleven games, only scored two points and fell down to 15th place. The last win came in October against Schalke. Dortmund, on the other hand, has won all of the last six games and has caught up with Bayern and Union Berlin on points.
Statistics: The record in the previous 29 games speaks for Dortmund. Borussia also won the last two games in Sinsheim. The Kraichgauers last won at home against BVB in December 2019. In the last five duels, 1899 only managed a draw against black and yellow.
Personal: Delaney’s use against his ex-team is questionable because of a flu infection. Defense chief Vogt, on the other hand, is an option again. Geiger is also returning. The game comes too early for Skov. Dortmund has to do without Adeyemi, who was so strong recently. Painting, Bynoe-Gittens or Reyna would be options.
special: In Delaney and Bruun Larsen, two former BVB players are under contract in Hoffenheim. While Delaney is still hoping to play, Bruun Larsen, who has had groin surgery, is ruled out. Should 1899 score, it would be the first points for new coach Matarazzo.
Wolfsburg demanded after five games without a win in Cologne
Situation: After five competitive games without a win, Wolfsburg need points to stay in seventh place. The Cologne team also want to score points after just one win in the last five games.
Statistics: The home record against Wolfsburg is poor with only five wins in 16 games, but in the first leg in Wolfsburg there was a 4-2 win for FC.
Personal: Hübers returns to the hosts. The sick Schmitz is questionable. At Wolfsburg, former Cologne player Bornauw (suspended) and sick Lukas Nmecha are out.
special: Cologne’s shirt sponsor rewe clears the chest for climate protection. The FC players wear the lettering NABU Climate Fund.
Chaser duel between Leipzig and Frankfurt to jump on Champions League place
Situation: For both teams, the pursuit duel is about the ticket for the premier class. “We want to try to keep up,” said RB coach Rose, whose team drew 1-1 against Manchester City in the Champions League. Eintracht lost 2-0 to Napoli.
Statistics: The RB balance sheet looks meager with only three wins from 13 games. The last win came in 2019 (2:1). Last year, the Saxons – still under Tedesco – had to accept a 0: 4 in Frankfurt.
Personal: In addition to the long-term injured Gulacsi, Olmo and Dialllo, RB only fears for Klostermann, who has adductor problems. At Eintracht, everyone is fit except for the long-term injured Ebimbe.
special: Silva is still chasing his success rates from Eintracht times. The Portuguese scored 28 goals and 8 assists in Frankfurt before moving to Leipzig. He almost always plays at RB, but rarely scores.
Hertha, threatened with relegation, urgently needs points against Augsburg
Situation: After the 4-1 defeat in Dortmund, Hertha fell back to second-to-last place with 17 points, while Augsburg is 13th in the table. seven points more on the account.
Statistics: Hertha has not lost against Augsburg since November 2019, the Fuggerstadt team have never won in the Olympic Stadium.
Personal: It is unclear whether Hertha will be allowed to use their winter signing Florian Niederlechner against his old club. Augsburg coach Enrico Maassen has to do without defender Felix Uduokhai and midfielder Elvis Rexhbecaj.
special: Sandro Schwarz is at the start for the 100th time as head coach in the Bundesliga, even though he missed a game on the sidelines because of a red card. With Arne Maier, a former Hertha player meets former Augsburg players Marco Richter and – possibly – Florian Niederlechner.
Werder Bremen welcomes VfL Bochum
Situation: Eight points separate the two clubs in the table. 16th Bochum could pull Werder back into the relegation battle.
Statistics: Bochum only won once in the history of the Bundesliga in Bremen: in 2008 with 2:1.
Personal: Both clubs are missing two important players. At Werder it’s the defensive players Weiser (injured) and Stark (suspended). At Bochum, the executives Losilla (suspended) and Zoller (injured).
special: Werder would have liked to have brought VfL striker Hofmann in 2021 themselves. The currently injured Holtmann was let go in the youth.
