Holstein Kiel – FC Bayern Munich 1:6 (0:4)
FC Bayern provisionally took the lead in the Bundesliga on matchday 3 after beating Holstein Kiel 6-1 (4-0). Jamal Musiala scored a goal for Bayern after just 14 seconds. Harry Kane scored three times (7th/43rd and 90th+1/penalty), new signing Michael Olise (65th) once for Bayern. Kiel’s Nicolai Remberg scored an own goal. Armin Gigović scored a consolation goal for Kiel towards the end (82nd). Bayern are followed in the table by Dortmund and Leipzig.
RB Leipzig – 1. FC Union Berlin 0:0 (0:0)
RB Leipzig and Union Berlin had previously parted ways without scoring a goal. Loïs Openda missed a penalty in the 74th minute – the best chance for Leipzig. His team missed out on a third successive win.
TSG Hoffenheim – Bayer 04 Leverkusen 1:4 (1:2)
Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, won clearly against TSG Hoffenheim with 4:1 (2:1). Martin Terrier (17th) scored the first goal for the Werkself after an assist from Victor Boniface in front of 30,150 spectators in Hoffenheim. Boniface then scored the second and fourth goals (30th and 75th). International player Florian Wirtz scored Leverkusen’s third goal from a penalty (72nd). Mërgim Berisha scored for Hoffenheim (37th).
SC Freiburg – VfL Bochum 1848 2:1 (0:1)
SC Freiburg also left the pitch with a win. The team from the Black Forest narrowly beat VfL Bochum 2-1 (0-1) in front of 34,100 spectators in Freiburg. After falling behind in the first half, Freiburg caught up in the second half. Myron Boadu had put the team from Bochum in the lead just before the end of the first half (45th minute). Junior Adamu then turned the game around for Freiburg after the break (58th and 61st minute). It is Bochum’s third defeat in three games.
VfL Wolfsburg – Eintracht Frankfurt 1:2 (0:1)
VfL Wolfsburg lost 1:2 (0:1) to Eintracht Frankfurt. Omar Marmoush scored both goals for Frankfurt (30th and 82nd minute from a handball penalty). Ridle Baku equalized in the meantime (76th minute).
Borussia Mönchengladbach – VfB Stuttgart 1:3 (1:1)
VfB Stuttgart beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3:1 (1:1). Deniz Undav (21′) gave Stuttgart the lead in front of 53,756 spectators at Borussia Park, Alassane Pléa equalized for Gladbach shortly afterwards (27′). Plea had to be substituted shortly after due to injury. Ermedin Demirović scored from close range in the second half after a pass from Fabian Rieder to make it 2:1 (57′). Three minutes later he scored again from a corner to secure the win for VfB (61′).
