Bunardjika explosions, make a new residential complex with 240 apartments

Demolition of the rocks on the grounds of the former restaurant “Riviera” on “General Danail Nikolaev” street, right next to the old wine industry, made the people of Plovdiv stand on their toes. “The blasting of Bunardjika is in full swing. But don’t worry, destroying the natural phenomenon is completely legal!” – wrote angrily and ironically a woman from Plovdiv in the group “Plovdiv – a city for people”, she saw Plovdiv24.bg.

“Plovdiv is being blown up! Literally! Tepe by Tepe”, “Plovdiv on three hills!” – he writes in some of the comments.

A member of the group asks whether, on this occasion, “Green Movement” will make an inquiry to the RISW and the Ministry of the Interior, because the Law on Protected Areas is in their portfolio.

“The tepets were worked on another time with checkers. I assume that the nuclear shelters under Sahata, Nebet tepe and Jambaz tepe, the tunnel, were made in a similar way, but after Markovo tepe there was a serious impact on the rocky water horizons under Bunardjika. It is no coincidence that the the spring from which the hill also takes its name has dried up. And seeing how far they have come, these cubes of rock are worth enough to cover a significant part of the work up to this point,” the Plovdiv native notes.

The explosions were carried out throughout the day on February 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The sign clearly states that a single siren signal is given before each explosion.

All actions related to explosions are coordinated with the municipality of Plovdiv and the Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. The documents for this object are also in a large municipality, the mayor of the “Central” region, Georgi Stamenov, commented to our media.

Some time ago, reports of dusting were received in the town hall and the regional ecologists contacted the builders to spray with water.

A residential complex with 240 apartments is planned to be built on the land in question next to the former winery.
