BUMN Boss Works Reveals Trillions of Rupiah in Debt of the Government

A number of bosses of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) The work reveals the amount government debt unpaid land acquisition for infrastructure project. BUMN Karya, including PT Hutama Karya (Persero), PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, and PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk.

President Director of Hutama Karya Budi Harto, the government has not paid the debt of Rp1.88 trillion. The debt is a bailout fund for land acquisition for a national strategic project (PSN).

“Until now there are Rp1.88 trillion that has not been paid. This is a bailout from 2016 to 2020, so it’s already the fifth anniversary,” said Budi, Wednesday (1/7).


In total, the bailout fund for land acquisition paid by Hutama Karya reached Rp8.01 trillion. The government has recorded a payment of Rp6.13 trillion.

“There is still a verification process and there are those that have been verified but not yet paid,” Budi added.

On the same occasion, President Director of Wijaya Karya Agung Budi Waskito explained that the government still owed Rp59.93 billion. The fund is a bailout fund for the land acquisition of the Serang-Panimbang project.

“The total bailout fund is Rp1.27 trillion for the acquisition of the Serang-Panimbang land. But until June (the government) is still underpaid Rp59.9 billion. This is in the verification stage,” Agung said.

He said the government was paying the debt on the bailout funds in stages. Agung detailed in 2018 funds paid by the government in the amount of Rp233.35 billion, 2019 in the amount of Rp802.89 billion, and until June 2020 in the amount of Rp174.69 billion.

Meanwhile, President Director of Waskita Karya Destiawan Soewardjono said that the total government debt is currently at Rp6.63 trillion. The figure consists of outstanding principal funds for the procurement of toll road land totaling Rp3.71 trillion, cost of fund bailout toll road procurement of Rp1 trillion, and light rail transit (LRT) South Sumatra Rp1, 92 trillion.

“Later, all refunds from the government will be used to settle obligations on banks and bonds,” Destiawan said.
