– New Justice Minister Park Beom-gye emphasized that the quarantine of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) is’public welfare’. Minister Park is scheduled to visit the Seoul East Detention Center as the first official schedule.
Minister Park posted a post on his social network service (SNS) on the 28th and said, “Corona quarantine is a public welfare.”
Minister Park said, “The prosecution should regard any offense that evades or ignores the measures of the quarantine authorities as an infringement of people’s livelihoods, and must deal with them strictly.”
Minister Park is scheduled to visit the Eastern Detention Center this morning to receive a business report. Earlier, he said at a personnel hearing held on the 25th, “I will go to the Eastern Detention Center as soon as I am appointed as the minister and have time to listen.” The eastern detention center is the place where a group infection occurred after the first confirmed corona19 occurred in November last year.
Meanwhile, as the Blue House approved the appointment of Minister Park the day before, his term of office begins on the 28th. Minister Park is the 27th ministerial figure appointed by the Moon Jae-in administration without opposition party consent.
