For the second consecutive year, the Bum Bum takes over the Barranquilla Carnival Museum and this time to the rhythm of carnival music with Queen Natalia De Castro González and the instructor Martha Maturana, who together with more than 300 Barranquilla residents gathered to live a day of exercise with the most popular themes during the carnival season.
The Bum Bum Festival is a project carried out by Bancolombia and the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá, which brings together the main museums and theaters in the country, and which seeks to contribute to the democratization of culture through the activation of public space and stages cultural activities with massive, diverse and inclusive interventions in four of the main cities of Colombia.
This multidisciplinary Festival of culture that unites us, has been working for 13 years to promote sustainable development and the well-being of communities and the country. In this sense, the Festival offers cultural spaces and invites citizens to participate in art in the daily life of spaces such as public transport, streets, parks and in this second year with activities at the Barranquilla Carnival Museum.
On this day, Martha Maturana gave a dance workshop, where she took a tour of the different folkloric and modern rhythms that sound in the Carnival season. This activity was joined by more than 300 carnival fans at two different times who danced with the Queen of Carnival 2023 Natalia De Castro González who enjoyed taking photos and sharing with everyone.
The Festival will have a second day next Saturday, September 2 in the Plaza de la Paz, where the Dance El Gusano of the municipality of Sabanalarga and a maracas workshop will be presented by Luis Soto.
With this program, the Carnival Museum continues with its varied cultural agenda with activities open to the public and in alliance with the highest level cultural institutions in the country, consolidating itself as a space for knowledge of the largest Festival in Colombia.
