The sender of the unknown number, whom Zicher initially thought was her 23-year-old son, who is studying in Braunschweig, explained that his bag had been stolen, that everything was gone and that he had had the cards blocked. “When I said ‘Hello Mama’, I immediately heard his voice,” says the 54-year-old from Bülten, who was surprised by the news at work. The sender continued to write that he had an outstanding bill but could not do internet banking at the moment, and asked Zicher to do this for him. He will pay back the money on Friday, but it has to be transferred before 6 p.m.
