When asked whether there is currently an assignment for procurement cooking oil to Bulog, Buwas believes there is not yet.
“Now we don’t have cooking oil, but we have done so for soybeans and corn. In the process, especially soybeans for tofu tempeh, it has been resolved,” he said.
Buwas admitted that he was surprised why cooking oil could be scarce in the market. He believes that the Ministry of Trade, which involves law enforcement such as the police, can thoroughly investigate the scarcity cooking oil.
“The Minister of Trade yesterday explained how the scarcity is, and the Minister of Trade has involved law enforcement to investigate. Because it’s true, the quota that is in the Ministry of Trade is the amount needed for domestic needs for the community’s needs, but until today why is it empty, there must be something dong,” he said.
“The one who can prove this is from law enforcement. We are waiting for the police to work. I believe the police can easily prove that, because they are already supported by technological equipment and it is easy, hopefully before this fasting cooking oil will be normal. Consumption needs society can be fulfilled,” he concluded.
