The match in the Canada-Slovenia game was between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic, with a notable supporting role also for Dillon Brooks.
The latter, next season’s player with the Houston Rockets, happily joined in the psychological warfare that dominated the game. A little too cheerful, because his bullying earned him an exclusion.
Doncic would also not make it to the end of the match. The Dallas Mavericks star was constantly annoyed by the umpires’ decisions. The Slovenian already flirted with the exclusion for the first time with a kind of “bribe gesture”.

Latvia has run a nice course. In the preliminary round it had a lot of trouble with the Belgian Lions, at the World Cup it turned out to be a tournament revelation.
Very close to facing Team USA on Friday, Latvia just missed closing a 10-point gap in the closing stages. The ultimate three-pointer exploded on the ring: 81-79.
Germany is among the last 4 at a World Cup for the first time since the Dirk Nowitzki era. For that we have to go back to 2002, when the bronze was taken in the United States.
