Almost half (48 percent) of Bulgarians are satisfied with European aid to Ukraine, 41 percent are not satisfied, and 11 percent cannot judge. This is according to the Eurobarometer survey data presented by the European Commission.
For comparison, those in the EU who are satisfied with the European policy on Ukraine are on average 56 percent, 38 percent are dissatisfied, and six percent have no opinion. When asked whether they are satisfied with the measures to help Ukraine taken by their government, on average 54 percent in the EU answer positively, 41 percent are dissatisfied and five percent cannot judge.
In Bulgaria, 35% are satisfied with the national measures, 56% are dissatisfied, and 9% have no opinion. A total of 64 percent of Bulgarians and 86 percent of other Europeans support the acceptance of Ukrainian refugees. The provision of European financial aid to Kyiv is supported by 54 percent in our country and 75 percent by the rest of the EU. Sanctions against Russia have 72 percent support in the EU (46 percent in Bulgaria).
According to 64 percent in the EU, it is good to provide weapons to Ukraine with European funds (30 percent support in Bulgaria). In the EU, 64 percent (42 percent in our country) support the possibility of Ukraine receiving the status of a candidate for joining the Community.
71 percent in the EU are in support of the single European economic and monetary union (40 percent in our country), 23 percent are against it (46 percent in our country). 50 percent of Bulgarians (45 percent in the EU) have a positive image of the Community, 37 percent are neutral (30 percent in our country), and 18 percent are negative (19 percent in Bulgaria).
Trust in the EU is 47 percent (48 percent in our country), in national parliaments it is 33 percent (13 percent in our country), in national governments it is 32 percent (14 percent in our country). The survey was conducted in June.
