Bulgarian mothers jumped on a children’s film with a three-legged dog and gay teenagers

Parents have jumped on board with Disney Animation’s new production, “Wonderful World,” which hits theaters this holiday season.

The film features the first ever main character in animation who is a gay teenager (hence a minor) whose parents fully support his choice.

“This is a B-rated movie, so it can be seen by children. When I brought mine, he got stressed because he saw the excitement, the love of a boy for his classmate and wondered what it was There was a commotion in the whole room, and I managed to explain to my son that this is a bleached girl. I’m shocked, what is this?” Desislava Lukova shared from her profile.

The National Film Center classified “Wonderful World” with category “B”, which means: “The film affirms the ideals of humanism, promotes national and world culture, or does not in any way contradict the country’s generally accepted moral norms , and there are no restrictive recommendations from the commission.” .

“99% of the cartoons are category B or A. We are also responsible for the content, but we judged it this way because we think that there must be tolerance and that children of a younger age should of course already get used to these things. I understand that some people like it, some don’t, but the point is that society dictates it, and this is the future,” NFC representative Rostislav Malchev told the newspaper.

American actress Gabrielle Union, who voices the boy’s mother, told PinkNews that this is a great normal relationship story, presented in a normal, even “warm” way.

His colleague Young Light, who voices the teenager, also speaks flatteringly about the tape: “It’s very good, the way the love story is shown is not intrusive, on the contrary, it’s beautiful.”

However, according to most Bulgarian mothers from the ‘Bg Mama’ website, the film is scandalous. They warn those who have not yet seen the film not to bring their young children, or at the very least to explain to them in advance what they will see.

Otherwise, “Wonderful World” abounds with characters who rarely find a place to express themselves. There is a three-legged dog, disadvantaged people, divorced married couples and guys of different sexual orientations. The tape introduces us to the legendary family of explorers Clades, who find themselves deep in the unknown and unexplored territories of another wonderful world, where all kinds of dangers and more than amazing creatures lurk.

Director Don Hall probably decided these painful and sensitive subjects would be received more positively than negatively by the general public.
