Bulgarian Defense Minister pledges support for Ukraine’s counter-offensive and civil-military relations

Bulgaria must provide assistance to Ukraine so that it can continue its counter-offensive and liberate its occupied territories. This was stated by the new Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev at the official ceremony at which he took office. The minister pointed out that this will be done within the framework of union decisions and strict implementation of the decisions of the National Assembly.

According to him, efforts to strengthen the defense capabilities of the country should be continued. Tagarev stated that there are no negative intentions in the government regarding the people in the defense, writes BTA.

Tagarev will also pay attention to the issue of civil-military relations. According to him, it is particularly visible that there are serious challenges in guaranteeing democratic civil-military relations.

The mandate fulfilled: Denkov returned to the president the folder with the composition of the cabinet

Former Acting Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov stated that he never served another country, never served in friendly circles and for over 30 years he wore a uniform with honor and pride. Todor Tagarev indicated that in the coming days he will present his team and the priorities of the ministry.
