Bulgarian Co-Chairman Hristo Ivanov Criticizes Radev’s Position on Ukraine and Discusses Governance and Trust in Politics

“Radev’s remark that Ukraine wanted to wage this war despite the absolutely clear situation and position of all the unions to which we belong, that Ukraine is a victim of illegal, illegal aggression by the Russian Federation, isolates us from our allies. Radev declares himself a spokesman for Putin’s interests. He ranks next to Lukashenko,” DB co-chairman Hristo Ivanov told bTV.

In his words, Radev’s position was unworthy, vile and very harmful for Bulgaria.

He also commented on the governance of the country, as according to him the voters understood the historical significance of the compromise combination between GERB-SDS and PP-DB.

“The government of Denkov and Gabriel is the best tool the country has. We have to navigate this change,” Ivanov pointed out.

“The basis is judicial reform and our determination is firm. It is reasonable to expect that our partners have learned their lessons. We keep our gunpowder dry and we are alert, but we cannot afford, because of misgivings and bad precedents, not to try. We have no right to that,” Hristo Ivanov was categorical.

He also commented on Daniel Mitov’s words that GERB did not trust them.

“We are politicians, not in a cooking show. Democracy is a conversation between those who disagree. Politicians must be able to manage the factors of mistrust,” he said. According to him, it will not happen that they trust each other or like each other “We may go through nuances, but there will be no full embrace,” Ivanov was categorical.
