Bulgaria, Greece and Romania reached a tripartite agreement to restore Ukraine after the end of hostilities. It happened after a meeting in Sofia at the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs. Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis noted that the escalation of events in Ukraine in recent days is alarming and this necessitates the discussion of more specific measures within the framework of the European Union.
According to him, it is important that the three countries join forces and send a message to revive and bring life back to Ukraine. During the tripartite meeting, Varviciotis raised the issue of eliminating energy dependence on Russia, underlining the importance of the interconnection between Bulgaria and Greece and its geopolitical significance in the European energy independence policy.
