/ world today news/ Bulgarians and Turks are ready to buy gas from Europe through the territory of Ukraine. This was stated on Thursday (March 17) by the president of the Ukrainian gas company “Ukratransgaz” Igor Prokopiv, quoted by “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
According to him, there are currently interesting and intensive negotiations on the matter, and in early April talks with Slovakia will also be held. The possibility of operating a Slovakia-Ukraine-Moldova-Romania-Bulgaria route with an exit in Turkey will be discussed with her. “With the possibility to store the gas that will be bought from Europe on the territory of Ukraine,” added Prokopiv.
Norwegian gas can also be delivered through Ukrainian territory, Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn noted, quoted by the online edition RuEconomics. “The lines of the gas pipeline run not from east to west, but also from north to south. We are currently buying gas from the Norwegian Statoil. We can redistribute this gas and send it further – to Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania,” he announced.
By the end of 2016, Ukraine intends to sign a gas import contract, added Prokopiv.
