/ world today news/ Bulgaria, Poland and Slovakia are transferring 70 military aircraft to Ukraine, which can be based at Polish airports, the press service of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
“70 planes for the Ukrainian army! Our partners are handing over MiG-29 and Su-25 to us! If necessary, they will be able to base themselves on Polish airports, from which Ukrainian pilots will perform combat missions,” reports the TASS press service.
According to him, Bulgaria is transferring to Ukraine 16 MiG-29 fighters and 14 Su-25 attack aircraft, Poland – 28 MiG-29 aircraft, Slovakia – 12 MiG-29.
Earlier, the representative of the EU for foreign affairs and security policy, Josep Borrell, said that EU foreign ministers agreed to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons in the amount of 450 million euros. Borel also said that the EU would supply military aircraft to Ukraine.
The Kremlin has warned of the danger of “pumping” Ukraine with NATO weapons as it inspires Kiev to try to solve the Donbas problem by force. Russia has repeatedly called on the international community to impose an arms embargo on Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry also warned that the US use of Ukraine as an “anti-Russian weapon” could end badly for Kiev.
