The Bulgarian authorities have prepared a project to transfer defective missiles for the air defense system to Kyiv. The largest parliamentary factions in the country became the sponsors, reports the online publication Factor.
“The Bulgarian side does not have the capabilities to repair and restore faulty anti-aircraft guided missiles for the S-300 air defense system without threatening the life and health of personnel. Accordingly, Bulgaria cannot repair or use them, but they can serve the needs of Ukrainian air defense,” says the explanatory note to the project, reports “Factor” It is noted that the largest parliamentary parties in Bulgaria, which form the coalition government, have already supported this decision.
Only the Socialist Party opposed the transfer of defective missiles to Ukraine. Its representatives said that such deliveries are a national betrayal, because the sky over the capital of Bulgaria will remain unprotected.
In July, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a declaration in Bulgaria on the integration of Ukraine into NATO. According to it, Bulgaria welcomes the country’s membership in the alliance. In addition, the document obliges the country to support Ukraine financially and politically, RIA Novosti reports.
