Radev reappointed Dimitar Glavchev as head of the interim government until the elections.
The interim cabinet, which is largely the same as the current one, has already been introduced to parliament.
“The political crisis is not over,” Radev said before the swearing-in ceremony, adding that there will only be a solution when there is an active majority in parliament that elects an effective government.
In the previous elections, held in early June at the same time as the European Parliament elections, these parties did not manage to win enough seats to form a government on their own.
The fact that elections are held frequently and as a result no government is formed has reduced public interest in politics. Voter turnout continues to decrease: only 33% of eligible citizens participated in the elections held in June.
