Bulgaria to complete the infrastructure projects under construction as soon as possible, so as not to lose EU funds. This was called for by the chairman of the regional committee of the European Parliament – Yunus Omarji during his visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the MEP from GERB – Andrey Novakov, BTV reports.
Omarji visited the Struma highway, the Shipka tunnel and met with mayors in Sandanski and Gabrovo.
According to him, the delay is not fatal, but the work must continue quickly and transparently, because each subsequent delay will cost more for the Bulgarians. Yunus Omarji reminded that in recent years Bulgaria has benefited from a global package of 11 billion euros.
When asked by bTV, Omarji answered that the investigations of some of the constructions in our country should not stop their implementation: “No country stops the project during an investigation. I was surprised that the roads were empty, without any cars, without people, without tools, without construction equipment. That was very strange, “said the head of the EP’s regional committee.
