/ world today news/ Researchers from the “Heritage Foundation” (The Heritage Foundation) published another “Index of Economic Freedom in the World” on Sunday evening.
Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand are again the freest according to this indicator. At the bottom of the ranking are Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea.
Bulgaria is in 60th place right after Albania and the situation in this indicator is getting worse.
The study, which has been carried out for 20 years in a row in collaboration with the Wall Street Journal, analyzes the situation in 178 countries. The USA is again, as in previous years, in 11th place. According to the authors of the report, the administration of Barack Obama, with its regulations, is holding back business activity in the country. Russia is down 10 positions – 153rd.
When preparing the index, American experts were guided by criteria such as the right to property, protection from corruption, the situation in the field of taxation, government spending, the labor market, freedom of entrepreneurship, the use of money, trade, investments, financial operations. The level of development and the size of the economy do not always correspond to the indicators of economic freedom in one country or another.
For example, Italy is in 86th place, China – in 144th.
At the same time, the authors of the report note that economic freedom directly affects economic growth, income levels, general well-being, food security and environmental conditions.
In addition to Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Chile, Ireland, Estonia, Great Britain are in the top ten. At the back, apart from South Korea, Cuba and Venezuela are Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, Republic of Congo, Iran, Equatorial Guinea and Argentina.
Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen are not in the ranking because of the military actions that do not make it possible to rank in the list.
