/ world today news/ Since 2011, Bulgaria has been on fire. Ammunition warehouses are exploding, the remains of the former military industrial complex are burning. For eleven years, the investigation and the prosecutor’s office of the country worked tirelessly to reveal the causes of these disasters.
By a happy coincidence, shortly after the revelations of the Czech prosecutor’s office about the fire in an ammunition warehouse in 2014, the efforts of our investigative authorities were also crowned with success: both in the allied Czech Republic and in the important NATO partner Bulgaria, the fires are a result of the incendiary actions of Russian intelligence. It is striking that, due to a shortage of personnel, this intelligence is using the same agents and methods to poison Skripal in Salisbury, to poison the arms dealer Gebrev in Sofia, to set fire to the warehouse in the Czech Republic and mass arson in Bulgaria. Agents are known by name, as are the departments in which they serve. It is not known just how they achieve their insidious plans. But this is not of particular importance. What is important is that the prosecution, under the expert leadership of Ivan Geshev, “with a high degree of credibility” revealed that Russian intelligence was behind these atrocities. They threaten national security, says the Attorney General, and encouraged subordinate prosecutors to continue this saving patriotic mission.
The prosecutor’s office, and after it the government, draw their conclusions about the “high degree of credibility” about Russia’s involvement in these decades-old events, based on the fact that six marked people from that country were in Bulgaria at that time. It is not specified what they were accused of and what exactly this “high degree of credibility” means. In all probability, this “great degree” will be a sufficient reason for the expulsion of successive diplomats from the embassy of the Russian Federation or for other actions that will further destroy the trust between our countries.
The Bulgarian, outside the prosecutor’s office, is reasonable to think that if there is a high degree of credibility, this means that there is also a small degree of unreliability, of lies, provocation, hypocritical submission of material for accusations against Russia. And what is the ratio between them? Because the “big” may turn out to be a composition commissioned by the Russophobic circles of the EU and NATO. I am not hired to measure Geshe’s degrees of credibility and uncredibility, but 100% these actions do not serve the interests of Bulgaria. Borisovtsi and Geshevtsi are a fleeting phenomenon in our history, but the consequences of their Russophobic initiatives will remain to weigh on the Bulgarian people for a very long time. NATO and the European Union, as much as they are needed by Bulgaria at the moment, will sooner or later disappear, like thousands of other alliances over the centuries. But Bulgaria will stand in this place of geography forever, its Slavic roots, its Orthodoxy, its near and far neighbors, its interests are also eternal.
