Bulgaria has delivered 100% of the weapons promised to Ukraine for €3.5 million.

Bulgaria has fulfilled its promise to deliver weapons to Ukraine for the defense of the country attacked by the Russian Federation, it is clear from a publication of the most circulated newspaper in Germany, “Bild”, quoted by zashtoto.com. Our country has delivered armaments worth 3.5 million euros, which is more than Austria.

The publication refers to extensive research by the Institute for the World Economy in the German city of Kiel. It is indicated that 10 European countries, including Bulgaria, have provided Ukraine with 100% of the promised military aid, while Germany and the United States have provided less than 40% of what they promised.

According to the resigned Deputy Prime Minister Kornelia Ninova, our country does not supply weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian army. She repeatedly explained that we have contracts with other partners, and it is beyond Bulgaria’s control whether they do not redirect the weapons purchased by our country to them after the export is completed.

“Our military plants are working three shifts and exporting, there is no other place in the world right now that needs our munitions except Ukraine. It is clear that this weapon ended up in Ukraine,” said former foreign minister and MEP Ivaylo Kalfin to BNT at the end of June.

Western countries have promised Ukraine 80.7 billion euros in military aid, but only 10 of them have so far fulfilled their obligations in full.

Ukraine’s neighbor Poland is the leader in the supply of military aid to Ukraine: it provided 100% of the promised arms worth 1.8 billion euros. In absolute terms, this is second only to the US, which provided €2.33 billion (38.4%) of €6.3 billion in arms.

In addition to Poland, Latvia (220 million euros), France (160 million euros), Italy (150 million euros), Belgium (80 million), Luxembourg (50 million), Finland (30 million) fully fulfilled their obligations. ), Slovenia. 10 million), Bulgaria (3.5 million), Austria (3.3 million).

In absolute terms, after the USA and Poland, the leaders in military aid to Ukraine are Great Britain (90.7% of the promised 1.12 million euros) and Canada (82.5% of the promised 920 million euros).

Percentage – Estonia (250 million euros promised, 98% secured), Norway (450 million, 96% fulfilled), Czech Republic (260 million, fulfilled 88.9%), Netherlands (80 million, fulfilled 84.9%) ), Lithuania (50 million, 82.6% complete). Followed by Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Australia.

As for Germany, of the promised 675 million euros in military aid, it provided Ukraine with 269 million euros, that is, 39.9%. Followed by New Zealand (31% of 3.6 million euros), Greece (5.8% of 250 million euros).

South Korea, Portugal, Romania and Croatia have yet to provide Ukraine with the promised aid.

Researchers warn that since the beginning of June, arms deliveries to Ukraine have slowed compared to previous months, and the volume of weapons promised to Kyiv during this period has also decreased.

In April, the Kiel Institute for World Economics estimated that, given its gross domestic product, Estonia had pledged the most aid to Ukraine of any country in the world.
