Stoycho Katsarov will ask for an extension of the epidemic situation by up to 6 months
By mid-December, the Ministry of Health will provide stocks of all new therapies for the treatment of COVID.
This means that more vials of monoclonal antibodies will be purchased, with 3,000 doses already provided by one of the manufacturers, but a contract will be signed with another.
Our country will also buy from the only tablets so far against COVID – mulnopiravir by Merck, which the UK has already approved for use. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is expected to approve their use by the end of November, explained the head of the Bulgarian Medicines Agency, Bogdan Kirilov. The first deliveries of this medicine in our country are expected by the middle of next month.

Remdesivir is used for the most severe forms, of which our country has so far used over 180,000 vials for therapy in about 25,000 patients.
For the mildest forms of COVID, the third ray of medicinal products is provided – the antiviral in the form of tablets. It will be used in people over 12 years of age, and discharge should be done by the 5th day of positive tests. The course of treatment is 5 days with 2 tablets per day.
