In the first qualifying round, the Latvian duo defeated the thirteenth seeded US beach volleyball players Caleb Blanchet and Tomas Hurst in three sets with 2-1 (21:15, 17:21, 15: 9), in the second round with 2 -1 (21:17, 14:21, 15:13) fourth-seeded Quinten Grenevold and Dutchman Mäms Senger were defeated in the third round by Bulgacs / Teteris, but in the third round they beat the Hungarians Marton Udvarhej and Leventi Polgar 2-0 (23:21, 21:11) (5.).
