Bukayo Saka has apologized to Konstantinos Tsimikas after Liverpool-Arsenal. After being pushed by the Arsenal striker, Tsimikas collided with his manager Jurgen Klopp, suffering a broken collarbone.

The incident took place at Anfield after half an hour of play. In a duel for the ball, Tsimikas took a big push from Saka on the sideline. Klopp watched from close by and tumbled over the falling Tsimikas.

Tsimikas was forced to abandon the match. After the cracker, which ended 1-1, the former Willem II player turned out to have broken his collarbone. It was reason enough for Saka to say sorry.

“I heard he’s in hospital now,” the Arsenal star said Sky Sports. “So I want to apologize even though I didn’t have any bad intentions fiftyfiftyduel I think.”

Klopp was disappointed with the failure of his left back. “That is a bitter pill for us, also because we still miss Andrew Robertson. It is not nice when something like this happens before your eyes and you are involved. I have no pain myself. I would like to give my own collarbone to him to give.”

“How is this not a penalty?”

After the match, Klopp was particularly dissatisfied with the arbitration. The Liverpool manager believes his team should have been awarded a penalty when Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard had the ball hit his arm in the first half.

“I have seen the images. I hope that someone will explain to me why this is not a handball. How is this not a penalty? How is it possible that the VAR did not call the referee aside?”

The penalty moment did not ensure that Liverpool came up empty-handed against Arsenal. After Gabriel’s quick 0-1, Mohamed Salah equalized brilliantly just before half time. After the match for the top position, Arsenal will remain number one in England for the time being.
