Bukalapak Sued for Compensation of Rp1.1 Trillion, Wow What’s Up?

PT Harmas Jalesveva (Harmas) filed a second lawsuit addressed to Bukalapak. Company e-Commerce it also expresses his readiness.

The lawsuit has been registered with the South Jakarta District Court registered with number 575/Pdt.G/2022/PN JKT.SEL on Thursday (30/6/2022).

Harmas sued with a case of project work and the loss of the plaintiff’s five-year rental income, which was estimated at Rp1.1 trillion.

Currently, Bukalapak revealed that his party was waiting for documents related to the lawsuit from the competent authorities to study and prepare.

In addition, as stated by the Heaf of PR Bureau Bukalapak, Monica Chua, taking available legal steps in accordance with the applicable legal corridors.

“Just like when we won the first lawsuit, our position in the case in question is strong and clear,” said Monica as quoted in a press release received by detikINET, Monday (4/7/2022).

Monica added that Bukalapak could not continue the cooperation plan with the plaintiff, considering that the obligations of the plaintiff had not yet been fulfilled Harmas to meet the provision of work location space.

“Therefore, we do not take part in the loss of the plaintiff’s rental income or other losses. Therefore, we are ready to face this second lawsuit,” he said.

In the previous lawsuit registered in the case register No.294/Pdt.G/2021/PN JKT.SEL, the panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court could not accept the lawsuit for unlawful acts filed by Harmas.

The Court’s decision has clearly granted Bukalapak’s exception regarding the lack of parties in the lawsuit (a partnership of more) so that Harmas’ claim cannot be accepted (declared inadmissible).

Be delivered Bukalapak that it respects and will carry out this decision as a company operating in accordance with the laws of Indonesia.

Bukalapak had the intention of collaborating with Harmas in terms of renting a work location as outlined in the Letter of Intent. Established company Ahmad Zaky also paid down payment to strengthen this intention. However, Bukalapak was unable to continue the work location rental plan with the consideration that Harmas’ obligations were still not fulfilled in providing work location space.

Although this plan was not continued, until now Harmas has not fulfilled its obligation to return the down payment to Bukalapak.
