Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (OPEN) terminated the employment relationship (layoffs) about 5 percent employee in August 2023.
BUKA Director/Corporate Secretary Teddy Nuryanto Oetomo said the layoffs were taken as part of a performance evaluation to meet the needs of users. In addition, layoffs were also carried out to optimize the company’s operations.
“The results of this evaluation are followed up in the form of plans for changes in various areas, including changes in terms of products, technology, processes and resource requirements,” he said in the information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Thursday (10/8).
Teddy said that his party understands that in its implementation, all changes have their own challenges. However, layoffs are necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of our business.
He also ensured that the layoff process was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.
All employees affected by layoffs, he said, had received compensation at least in accordance with Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation to become Law, and Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 concerning Fixed Time Work Agreement, Outsourcing, Working Time and Rest Time, and Termination of Employment, along with the implementing regulations.
Furthermore, Teddy said the layoff decision could affect the survival of the company and could affect the company’s stock price.
However, until now there has been no information or other important events that are material and could affect the survival of the company and could affect share prices.
