NEW YORK – A 69-year-old man died in a fire in a Brooklyn apartment building early Monday, authorities said.
Police officers who responded to a 9-1-1 call about an incident in a six-story building in Midwood Street in East Flatbush, around 4:30 am, the victim was found unconscious after firefighters put out the flames.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified.
Footage of the scene showed several destroyed windows on the first floor while firefighters were nearby.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
