Building Effective Communication and AI Skills for Government Leaders: Insights from the International Government Communication Forum

The activities of the International Government Communication Forum witnessed the organization of a series of specialized capacity building programs in cooperation with a number of strategic partners, with the aim of providing leaders, youth and children with basic skills in a range of different fields.

The “Effective Communication in the Government Sector” program, in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), focused on building the next generation of leaders, and on effective communication as a basis for successful governance, and discussed several topics, including listening, working constructively with others, negotiation, and emotional intelligence. And enhance effective communication within the work team.

The forum expanded to new fields in the second program, entitled “Artificial Intelligence Skills Camp,” and aimed to provide students and the post-millennial generation with practical artificial intelligence skills. The program was keen to enable participants to harness this technology in creating and managing government and media content, and supporting the digital economy.

While the “Utilizing Behavioral Insights to Improve Resource Management” program was keen to enhance participants’ knowledge of the basics of psychology, economics, behavioral sciences, and other sciences and knowledge that enabled governments to positively influence culture and behavior without using bans and fines.

The program sessions, presented by the “Behavioral Insights Team,” discussed resource management within four main themes: food and water security, natural resources and environment, knowledge and education, industry, investment and trade.
