In 2004, when the City of Mâcon launched its project to rehabilitate the former premises of SEITA, the match factory, more commonly known as the “manu”, few people believed in this renovation program. At the time, many observers but also and above all the elected representatives of the opposition who buried this project alive. Eight years later, the facts almost proved them right when it came to welcoming the first companies. The launch was sluggish to say the least and during the first year, the qualification of an empty shell rehabilitated site was heard everywhere. The City of Mâcon has actually experienced the worst difficulties in filling this economic site scattered over nearly 7 ha. But since that date, the current site of 11,500 m² grew, and grew well. Proof of this was given on Friday morning when it was time to blow out the ten candles of this real economic pole more than ever focused on digital innovation.
