My blood for others (MSPLA) is a blood donation drive, created in 1998 in Toulouse by Jean-Claude Brocart and organized every year in Mâcon for 9 years and jointly between the EFS (French blood establishment) and the Rotary club of Mâcon with the help of ADSB, association for voluntary blood donation.
The objective of this collection is twofold since to donate blood is to meet the needs of patients and save lives and it is also to recruit new donors. For 9 years, in Mâcon, MSPLA has received 923 donors including 187 new donors. The Rotary Club of Mâcon warns of the need to donate blood at a time when stocks are very uncomfortable. The level of reserves is insufficient and it is due to the significant decrease in collections in companies following the Covid-19. The demand is greater than the pockets available. It takes 1 hour to donate blood and this donation saves 3 lives.
This year, the collection will take place on Friday, November 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hôtel de Ville in Mâcon, by appointment (mon-rdv-dondesang.efs.sante.fr) and in strict compliance with health measures (distancing, wearing a mask and using hydroalcoholic gel). The snack will be provided by 3 Mâconnais chefs from the Pierre, l’Autre Rive and Le Poisson d’Or restaurants, the Chevenet cheese dairy as well as by the Super U de Prissé and the Vival de Flacé, who are all very loyal and alongside the organizers. to support this action.
The day’s entertainment will be provided by the magicians of Flintstones and an exhibition / sale of paintings by two artists (Pierre-Eric and Valérie Morel) which will be installed in the Espace Carnot in Mâcon.
