Around 530 participants started the running event on Wednesday / Filmon Teklebrhan and Julia Pieper were the fastest.
. After a Corona break and a special edition last year, the Bugging after-work run celebrated a successful comeback one day before Ascension Day. A total of around 530 participants gave the running club of the Spielvereinigung 09 Buggingen Seefelden a large field again this year. The running event took place for the first time in 2018 and has already firmly established itself in the regional running calendar.
Start and finish of all running competitions on Wednesday was the clubhouse in Buggingen. The organizer donated part of the proceeds to the Ukrainehilfe (“Aktion Deutschland Hilft”) and other parts to the Spvgg Buggingen-Seefelden and their youth. The athletes could choose between the ten-kilometer main run or a five-kilometer route that shortened the main run. This was offered for the first time, it was taken over from the 2021 race. At that time there was a Corona edition with a virtual competition. The ten-kilometre route with around 100 meters in altitude led over hilly paths around Buggingen, Seefelden and Betberg. The Schlerlauf covered 2.2 kilometers and the Bambini run covered around 400 meters.
In the finish area, each finisher received a medal. The results could be viewed on the Internet immediately after the end of the competition. The after-work run is part of the Markgrfler running series with a total of six fun runs. Peter Jenniches moderated the event.
As expected, Filmon Teklebrhan won the main race. The top athlete from LAC Freiburg needed 31:33 minutes in ideal running weather. Lukas Borghardt and Florian Adami (TV Riegel) followed on the other podium places and also received a cash prize. There was also an unchallenged victory for the women: Julia Pieper (TV Waldstrae Wiesbaden; 41:13 min) finished ahead of Tanja Saretzki (LG Hohenfels) and Stephie Hermel (LC Breisgau). In the team ranking, the men from SV Waldkirch and the women from the Markgrfler Runners Club were happy about their victory.
