Bugatti has unveiled a special version of the Chiron hypercar called Les Legendes du Ciel, which is French for “Legends of Heaven.” The novelty was dedicated to the famous racers of the 20s of the last century, who are also considered aces pilots.
“Bugatti has been closely associated with aviation throughout its 110-year history. Many of the team’s successful riders such as Albert Divo, Robert Benoist and Bartolomeo “Meo” Costantini have served in the French Air Force. In addition, the legendary aviator Roland Garros, who is considered the first air ace, owned a Bugatti Type 18 to be as fast on the road as in the air, ”said the head of the automaker Stefan Winkelmann.
The special edition Les Legendes du Ciel differs from other Bugatti Chiron variants in the Gris Serpent body color that was characteristic of the fuselages of 1920s combat aircraft. The carbon fiber side “skirts” now have the image of the French tricolor. The exhaust pipes are made of Inconel, a nickel-chrome heat-resistant alloy.

The interior, trimmed in light leather and aluminum, features graphics on the door cards depicting a race between the classic Bugatti Type 12 sports car and the Nieuport 17 biplane.
The technical stuffing remains the same. The Bugatti Chiron is equipped with a 1500-horsepower W16 eight-liter engine with four turbochargers. The car is capable of accelerating to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, and its maximum speed “for safety reasons” is electronically limited to 440 km per hour.
The special edition Les Legendes du Ciel will be limited to 20 pieces, each of which will cost 2.88 million euros. The total circulation of the Bugatti Chiron hypercar will not exceed 500 cars.
