Still going strong at 43, the World Cup winner is now focused on his promotion to Serie A
Gianluigi Buffon has been announced as a Parma player again, 20 years after leaving the club to join Juventus.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, the 43-year-old is still not ready to hang up his gloves and will play the 2021-22 season in Serie B.
Buffon signed a two-year contract with his former club, but has a clause in his contract that could see him leave after just one season if he wishes.

What was said?
The Italian icon was recently questioned by journalists about his future when he launched “Buffon’s summer camp” at his goalkeeper academy in Marina di Pietrasanta.
He said: “I decided to continue playing because I still feel good. “
Buffon’s 2020-21 season and Juve’s legacy
After playing a backup role behind Wojciech Szczesny last season, Buffon only made 14 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady.
He did, however, keep six blank sheets as he took home the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa winners’ medals to add to his already incredible CV.
Of course, his legendary status at Turin has long been secured, having won nine Serie A titles in 656 appearances in his first stint with the Bianconeri.
Only Alessandro Del Piero has made more appearances for Juve than World Cup winner Buffon, who has also reached three Champions League finals.
Back to where it all began
Buffon made his senior debut for Parma at the age of 17 in November 1995, taking 220 games before Juve rushed for his services for a record € 52million (£ 45million / 63 million dollars) in 2001.
After helping the club win the Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana and UEFA Cup, Buffon is now tasked with helping Parma return to Serie A after their 20th place last season which saw them relegated.
